Bloody Parrot (1981)

An expert swordsman is suspected of being the thief of a treasure sent to Emperor. The swordsman who has nothing to do with the theft investigates and is led on the trail of the supernatural "Bloody Parrot". This leads to the "Parrot Brothel" and the star prostitute who walks around half naked. Strange things happen including a demonic possession, witches casting poison spells, disgusting autopsies and numerous sword fights. Then a dead constable turns into a vampire! This is all in the first 30 minutes!
Directed at a breakneck pace, Hua Shan predicts the hyper-kinetic films from HK in the 1990''s. The film shows a good bit of style and production values. If the story wasn't completely confusing at times it would be quite enjoyable for fans of wacky HK films. At least something unexpectedly odd happens every few minutes. For fans of Shaw wuxia action, there is quite a bit of it and the fight choreography of Hsu Hsia is very good. Ching- Ching Yeung, a very talented Wu Shu performer, appears in the last third of the film for a great fight scene and she carries one of the oddest weapons I've seen. Jenny Liang plays the star prostitute and spends her lengthy first scene half naked or mostly naked. She's quite comfortable unclothed unlike many Shaw nudie actresses of the time who seem like they are thinking of the robe just off the set. And she goes straight into a near naked demonic possession scene. After that she remains clothed. But when the film is in the last third and your mind starts to wander back to her first scene, the film has her take all her clothes off in a cavern of mirrors! Now that's service.

The One Armed Swordsmen (1976)

The martial world is now awash in one-armed knights, who aren't inclined to make any permanent alliances among themselves.
Hmmm, not a patch on the original from Shaw Brothers. The fighting is average and looks very clunky. The story line is as to be expected from a 70's Kung Fu film, confusing and daft. Stupid voices for women, dubbed in posh English accents for men. i turned this off early and i love martial arts flicks. Get the original, its so much better than this average movie, don't be fooled, i bought the wrong flick what i wanted was the Shaw brothers movie. i have just started commenting, I'm only doing foreign and martial arts films this is just the beginning of my movie collection, i personally own most modern martial arts flicks. Hope you don't waste time watching this one, its for die hard fans of 70's Kung Fu only.

The Mysterians (1957)

Organized Crime & Triad Bureau (1994)

The head of the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau, Inspector San Lee, will do anything to put triad boss Tung in jail, but he'll have to fight both sides of the law to do it.
This film has a few great elements going for it. The performances are quite good, especially Anthony Wong as the gangster pursued by Danny Lee (in another fine performance as a harried police inspector). Kirk Wong does a fine job on this film again - he seems to be in many ways like a Hong Kong version of Sidney Lumet. Both are obsessed with the police system, and this film is the one that illustrates that the most. This is not quite as good as the excellent Jackie Chan film Crime Story, which Wong also directed, but it's one to check out if you're a fan of Hong Kong films. Just don't expect the pyrotechnics of a John Woo film or the quirkiness of Gordon Chan and Dante Lam's Beast Cops. This is a very straightforward police procedural, boiled down to its purest essence.

The Mercenary (1983)

Description: Wilson, a Thai veteran of the Vietnam War and all around master of combat, leads a group of men on a daring mission into the jungles of Vietnam to topple a dangerous drug lord and his cannibal army.
I don't know anything about Hong Lu Wong, only that he is from Thailand and directed one weird movie: Cannibal Mercenary. Set in the Jungle, this is an action/war movie, with elements of Rambo and Cannibal Holocaust. The plot is just an excuse for all kind of tortures, and violent scenes. This is low budget but it manages to be effective and repulsive. The music score is great, yes, but only because they shamelessly use the Goblin tune of Dawn of The Dead(that was also used in some Matei zombie movie). That adds more cult value to this movie, i really liked a lot. I also found that its possible that Schnaass took some ideas from here to Violent Sh t 3, all the final segment is exactly the same premise.

Lady Battle Cop (1990)

I've been trying to watch this movie for a long time. Onna Battle Cop was releases only in VHS in Brazil with the USA title Lady Cop. At the local release date, there was a lot of others Japanese tokusatsu series and movies available.
Lady Cop looks like a female Kidou Keiji Jiban, which is a fantasy-techno-non-futurist Robocop. They are all the same thing: someone gets hurt and a ultrascret project saved their lives , turning into a robot. So its time to get a good weapon and... revenge! The camera tricks (like wearing a mask) are really bad for a movie. The special effects are low budget, but its OK. The strange thing is that doesn't look like a Toei's movie, but a Toei's series. There's a lot of theme songs and in the end of the movie appears "The battle is just beginning". Does it supposed to have a Onna Battle Cop 2? My guess is that it supposed to be a pilot for some TV series. Even the end of the movie looks like an TV tokusatsu ending (like Juspion or Kamen Rider Black, posing like great heroes on a black background).
