Star of David: Beauty Hunting (1979)

One dark and stormy night, a middle age prison escapee haphazardly breaks into the luxurious mason of a wealthy and privileged family and rapes the young wife in front of her bound husband. A year later, the son conceived by the rapist comes into the world. At the age of sixteen, he studies Nazi atrocities in history class, and feels the awakening of his inner brutality. The time has come. He launches a journey to let off a long-held grudge against the abusive foster father and to seek out a reunion with his genetic dad. He lures out his real father through newspaper ads and invites him to the secret torture chamber in the basement of the house where he confines abducted girls. Their feast of lust and perversion has now begun.
This movie is about young sex murderer. His mother herself was raped by a criminal and afterward his formerly milquetoast professor father abused both of them, believing his wife "enjoyed" the experience and his son was the product of the rape. Through either "nature" or "nurture" the son grows up to be a sex criminal himself, kidnapping women and sexually abusing them (onscreen) and then sometimes killing them (offscreen), even while he tries to have a conventional romance with a childhood friend. Eventually he meets his birth father, who is still and active rape-murderer himself.
This is a controversial movie, mostly because it has been more widely seen than most "pinku eiga" films and a lot people simply don't understand the genre. If people like violent action movies or slasher movies, no one (today at least) assumes they're homicidal maniacs because everyone knows that people aren't REALLY being killed. Well, the same thing is true in "pink" films. Of course, the women aren't REALLY being raped (nor are the girls in schoolgirl uniforms REALLY schoolgirls), and in fact the rape scenes are actually kind of ridiculous. Some people are either incapable of separating fiction from reality (notice I didn't say fantasy) or they don't give other people credit for being able to do so. The ridiculous rape scenes aren't necessarily even sex fantasies for all the male viewers (like me, for instance), but to the extent they are--well, even feminists acknowledge that woman have rape fantasies (yet don't want to really be raped), why is it surprising that many NON-RAPIST men do as well?
Ironically, the controversy largely comes about because the women in "pinku eiga" like this often end up enjoying the rape. After the "schoolgirl" is abducted, tortured, forced to masturbate for her captor and eventually violated, he lets her goes and sees her later back at school where she is now happy and well-adjusted. But this is exactly WHY these rape scenes are so unbelievable. It's an old-fashioned idea that men commit rape because they think the women "enjoy" it. Rapists are sadistic *bleeps* who probably would be very disappointed if the woman enjoyed it, or in most cases they are simply sociopaths who don't care (nobody thinks murderers, muggers, and burglars do what they do because they think their victims "enjoy" it). But you simply don't judge movies by how a child or a disturbed individual might react to them--or we'd only have movies fit for small children and disturbed minds. A NORMAL person will just laugh this off, or perhaps be titillated by the basically consensual BDSM. Besides, compare rape and sexual assault statistics in Japan to those of that "PC"/feminist fortress that is America and then you can try to tell me the problem is MOVIES. . .

Beautiful Teacher in Torture Hell (1985)

Ran Masaki plays a beautiful teacher who is transferred to a remote mountain school where she is gang-raped and abused by the male students. She is also turned into sex slave and subjected to sexual torture by bondage freaks.Masahito Segawa's "Beautiful Teacher in Torture Hell" is not as nasty as its lurid title suggests.Of course there is plenty of rape and sado-sexual violence, but the film never reaches the level of nastiness of "Captured for Sex 2" or "All Women Are Whores".The plot is interesting and offers some surprises and the acting is decent. All in all,if you are pinku eiga completist you can't miss it-just don't expect something totally depraved or disturbing.8 out of 10.

Newlywed Hell (1975)

the storyline or premise is a familiar one to pinku fans. A woman is sexually dominated through a series of rapes, bondage sometimes being involved, and other acts. Eventually the woman begins to enjoy it and starts to actively seek out 'rough sex' and sometimes even to the point where the woman is manipulating the men in her life to give her what she wants, when she wants it.
I didn't get a subtitled version but that is pretty much how the storyline played out in this one. It's a bit of a mystery at first when she enters this town where all the women seemed to be treated this way. And yet, she eventually gets used to it, and even begins to enjoy it.
My main interest in this is Naomi Tani. She comes as advertised, a beautiful woman, a great actress who's physical acting abilities are very good. And she also looks great naked. I'm actually not a big fan of the rape and forced-bondage genre but this one is quite "mild" compared to other pinkus. The scenes I get a rise out of are more during the transformation when Naomi's character starts to seek out and enjoy these encounters more and more. There are quite a few sex scenes from the middle of the film onward, many involving some 'light' bondage.
The rest of the film, well I can't comment on the dialogue. But the scenery was well shot and well framed. The director definitely knew what he was doing.
7/10 (6 for the movie, +1 for Naomi Tani and those beautiful breasts, lovely eyes, and perfect skin)

Celluloid Nightmares (1999)

A female reporter researching underground sex films stumbles across a snuff film, and her further investigation causes the film makers to take action against her.
MU ZAN E is an extremely rough Japanese gore/sexual violence film by anyone's standards. Anyone who doesn't find some of the scenes in this film disgusting is inhuman. That being said, since that is exactly what I was looking for - I wasn't disappointed.
I will give a brief synopsis, and this is what I gathered, since my copy has no English subtitles or dubs: A reporter is doing some research on underground sex films. She does interviews with various people in the "industry" and goes on-set during the filming of a production. During her research, she comes across some snuff material. Apparently she begins researching that type of stuff too, and when she gets too close, certain people aren't happy with her prying and decide to take action against her...
Honestly, this film is NASTY,NASTY,NASTY. I can't think of anyone who truly enjoys this type of material as entertainment. My main interest in seeking this film is that I'm always looking for the most "shocking" films available. Let me tell ya, this is one of 'em. Not only that, but the story (what I could make of it) seemed pretty interesting (and far superior and more straight-forward than Yamnouchi's other offerings...), and I hope that Unearthed Films will release an English subtitled version. As far as I know, they hold the rights here in the U.S. but have no ETA as to when it will be released. I give this film a pretty high rating because it does exactly what it's intention is to do
repel, repulse and sicken - but again, the story is pretty decent
too, and even has an unexpected twist, which doesn't always happen in this new realm of Asian "super extreme" gore films. Recommended only for you truly sick f!cks out there!!! 8.5/10

A Lively Geisha (1968)

Koshizu (Fuji), a young geisha, tries to kill herself but is saved by cook Yukichi (Sugahara). Rival geisha Adakichi (Yumi), greedy trader Yasukawa (Abe) and wealthy businessman Asai (Soganoya) add up to dramatic turns.
A graphic portrayal of insatiable sexual desire, this film, set in 1936 and based on a true incident, depicts a man and a woman consumed by a transcendent, destructive love while living in an era of ever escalating imperialism and governmental control. Less a work of pornography than of politics, In the Realm of the Senses is a brave, taboo-breaking milestone.

Chivalrous Geisha (1969)

In this film a Fuji Junko plays the extremely popular, principled, and extremely attractive geisha Shinji, who rejects the advances of coal baron, played sleazily by Kaneko Nobuo (perhaps best known as Boss Yamamori in Fukasaku's Battles Without Honor and Humanity.) As she spurns his advances, as well as an early Meiji era imperial army general's, she begins to fall for a local mine owner named Shimada, played by Fuji's regular opposite Takakura Ken, whose mine is desired by the powerful Kaneko. This conflict eventually leads to death and destruction, as competition between Takakura and Kaneko mounts, with Fuji in the middle.
This film, like the Red Peony Gambler series, is pure entertainment, with some leftist anti-capitalist notes (funny that Yamashita isn't given nearly the hard time Yamamoto and Imai are). Fuji is a delight, and not for one second do you believe she's not nearly as attractive and interesting a geisha as the film is making her out to be. There are some interesting directorial flourishes, particularly in one of the last scenes where Fuji does Kabuki, with the red hair of the mythological lion, a being that protects against evil spirits and brings peace. This "dance" is countered with a long battle between Takakura and the rival gang protecting Kaneko's coal baron, lead by Tomisaburu Wakayama, flashing to one then back to the other. It's a powerful and effective use of editing.

THREE DAYS OF A BLIND GIRL (1993)

Amazing sleazy psycho exploitation thriller! This one woman goes blind but the blindness will only last for 3 days.
